I’ve spent the last week researching and trying alternative writing apps after a very frustrating day of attempting to be super-productive only to be foiled by the eternal freezing/crashing/glitchiness of MS Word for Mac. I’ve been a professional copywriter for ten years and crank out about 5k words of copy for clients a day. In my business, formatting matters, word count matters, and efficiency rules the day. Word has always been the standard word processor for my profession, but I have no idea why. Does Word have more “features”? Sure. Do I ever use those features? Nope. Write 2 now holds the place of honor as the most often used app in my dock. I wanted an app that supported .rtf, had access to basic and oft used formatting tools without opening a new window, showed word count, and had an appealing UI and look. Write 2 fulfills all those requirements. Technically it’s not a replacement for Word, but that’s OK. It replaces all the most-used functions of Word for me. I’ve had no problems with glitches or crashes and the app opens files quickly. Well done, Michael.
